Throttle valves

The throttle valve is used for regulating flow rates, e.g. for adjusting cylinder piston speed. The air flow rate is about the same in both directions. The flow rate can be adjusted via an adjustable spindle. These valves are used where both flow directions must be throttled evenly.
Function of precision throttling
Throttling does not occur as in normal cases via an annular cross section, but via a triangular groove milled in the throttle spindle. When fine tuning, this results in the throttling no longer occurring via an annular gap, but only via the narrowing triangular area, until complete closure is achieved.
