Graphite cord

Areas of application: valves, gate valves, fittings, pumps, containers, and oven, boiler, door and lid seals
Application media: acids, bases, sulphur, potassium nitrate, salt, vinegar, lemon, lactic acid, phosphorus, chlorine, carbolic, chromium, tannic acid, mixed acids, oleum, tartaric acid, formic acid, steam
Not suitable for: hydrofluoric acid and fluorine compounds
Material composition: E-glass filament yarn packing, greased and graphitised

This packing consists of textured and twisted E-glass yarns, grease and powder graphite. The glass and graphite components have a temperature resistance of 550°C. The grease component burns at a temperature of approx. 80-90°C. During the braiding process, the highly heat-resistant graphite/grease mixture is braided in. Intensive waterproofing gives the packing good sliding and emergency running properties. In the chambered state, a pressure of max. 50 bar can be achieved. When assessing the temperature resistance and pressure, the influence of the medium and the type of stress are of crucial importance.
