The light colour (also known as colour temperature) is given in kelvin (K). There are three general areas of colour perception: warm white (<3300 K), neutral white (3300-5000 K) and daylight (>5000 K). A light colour similar to daylight ensures that objects can be recognised and working areas monitored more easily. The lumen is the unit of luminous flux, and describes how much light is radiated to all sides from a light source. A distinction must be made between theoretical and effective lumens. The theoretical lumen rating is the number of lumens that can theoretically be achieved by the LED technology installed. The effective lumen rating indicates the light output that a work light can actually provide.
