SNAPP system

The SNAPP™ series is a compact single-use fuel filter/water separator with excellent filtration properties. Unlike common small engine filters that use a spin-on element requiring maintenance with a strap wrench, the SNAPP™ filter features a patented mounting system and quick-release elements that do not require seals or threads. This enables quick, easy and tool-free filter changes. The filter only requires 2 1/2 inches of clearance at the front for maintenance, making it suitable for installation in any location.
The SNAPP™ filter housing is a single-piece, high-strength nylon construction with a permanent powder-coated steel or stainless steel mounting bracket that is resistant to corrosion in all environments. The transparent drip tray enables visual inspection of the fuel quality. A self-venting drain is also available, allowing water build-up to be drained quickly. At the heart of the SNAPP™ fuel filter is Racor's Aquabloc® technology. Aquabloc® is a uniquely pleated material with a graded pore structure for better dirt pick-up capacity and longer filter life. The filter material is water- and corrosion-resistant and traps contaminants. The specially treated surface separates water from fuel, and causes it to coalesce into large droplets and drain into the drip tray.
Aquabloc® elements are available in three different designs: 30 microns (98% at 30 microns) - ideal as a pre-filter to protect downstream filters. Extends the life of output stage engine filters. Max. flow rate 129 l/h with petrol and diesel using the SNAPP™ filter. 10 microns (98% at 10 microns) - has a higher dirt pick-up capacity than 30 micron elements and offers better water separation capability. Extends the life of the entire fuel system. Max. flow rate 129 l/h with petrol and 98 l/m with diesel using the SNAPP™ filter. 4 microns (98% at 4 microns) - provides the best possible water separation and filtration and protects all modern fuel injection systems, while significantly increasing the life of output stage engine filters that are costly to maintain. Max. flow rate 151 l/h with petrol and 98 l/m with diesel using the SNAPP™ filter.
How it works: The SNAPP™ filter is installed in the fuel line between the tank and the engine. The filter snaps into its mounting bracket. The quick-release fittings enable quick connection to the fuel lines. The inlet and outlet ports can be positioned as required by rotating the SNAPP™ filter in the bracket. To change the filter, simply press the quick release fastener, remove the filter and prepare the new one (outlet of the old filter to the inlet of the new one), reattach the fuel lines and snap the new filter back into the bracket.
Applications:
• Diesel and biodiesel engines
• Petrol engines

Advantages:
• At just 4 inches wide and with a bolt spacing of 2 to 2 1/2 inches, SNAPP™ filters and brackets can easily replace existing filters or fasteners anywhere
• Quick-release fasteners eliminate the need for tools, making filter replacement quick, easy and hassle-free
• Removes water entering the system from condensation in the fuel tank. Water in the fuel stream encourages the growth of bacteria, which can lead to clogged filters and the formation of corrosive acids. Susceptible components then rust and corrode, leading to erosion and wear of key fuel system components
• Removes hard particles (such as sand and silica) that become airborne during transport and distribution
• Saves time and money by avoiding unplanned maintenance and system component failures
• Suitable for use in marine and other applications
